 My sweet bowen!

You are such a joy to have in my life and everyone else’s life. You just love to do all kinds of stuff and nothing ever surprises me. 

Caden and Keira spent the night about a week ago and I surprised him by asking you and Bryce to come. You were excited to come. And Caden was just so happy. He couldn’t have been more excited.

You had a great football season and you do love to play, but it seems soccer is your first love. But we will see. Your dad is on an adult team and you have been playing with him on the adult league and you, of course, just love it and your dad loves having you with him.  

You and your dad went out west to ski for two days. What an awesome time you guys had. You sent me several pictures and I was so happy to see them.

 My dear Bowen!

You are such a sweetheart. There was a soccer camp at the school, which was actually organized by your dad and aunt Staci and uncle Shane, and Drew Howard. On the first day of camp, you sat with Caden, and your mom asked you about that and you said it was his first day and I wanted to be there for him. How sweet is that. I have so many pictures of you holding Caden’s shoulder. You take such good care of him and love him so much. He is so lucky to have you.

Papa and I bought you a new wakeboard for your13th birthday. You were so excited, when you took it home that night you laid it beside your bed, and in the morning when you crawled in your mom and dad‘s bed (they had already got up) you brought the wakeboard in bed with you. I am so glad you’re happy with it.

You and Bryce, and one of her friends and your parents spent the night at the lake house last weekend and you three kids were in the water and you said to Etta “are you peeing?” Oh my gosh, how funny for a younger brother to ask a 15 year old girl if she is peeing in the water!

I sure love you, Bowen, I have never seen someone who has such a love of life. And everything you do and give it your all.

 My sweet heart Bowen,

You had a band concert just before school ended. You played the trumpet. You were so excited for this concert all your grandparents were there and uncle Shane and aunt Stacy and Caden and Keira came to watch you. And you just grinned  from ear to ear. But after every song you looked right in the crowd at your mother. Just brought tears to my eyes, because you wanted to make her happy. This is been such a hard winner for all of you. And my heart just breaks. Your mama started radiation yesterday. I just can’t wait for this to be over. We have our shed a lot of tears this winter.

 My dear, sweet Bowen

I will continue to tell you what a joy you are to have in our family. You and Bryce and mom and dad came to Florida just before Easter this year. Had to wait until mommy was done with her chemo. The year before you came near St. Patrick’s Day, and you left coins everywhere and just absolutely loved doing it. this year you were disappointed it wasn’t St. Patrick’s Day, but your mom said you could hide Easter eggs. So you were so excited about that, I had a bunch of Easter eggs and candy and you had a ball hiding in different places. You guys rode home with us this year from Florida. It was so nice to have the company.

We have been going to your soccer games since we come back, and I have to tell you, but after every game, you always give me a hug. You are never embarrassed, and it makes me feel so happy to have such a nice relationship with you. I really don’t think much could embarrass you because you can do everything.. And you are so well-rounded. This week we get to go to your band concert, you played the trumpet. And you are so excited about your concert. And I just get excited to see how much fun you have.

Four weeks ago your mom had her double mastectomy. My heart aches for her. If I could take it from her, I would in a heartbeat. When she came home from the hospital, she had four drains, and could not lay in bed. She had to sleep in a recliner. So, you slept on the couch to be near her in case she needed anything. Even as I type this, it makes me tear up to tell about such compasssion you have.  It certainly has been a hard road for your mama. But she does her best to not let you see what she’s going through.

Remember, I am always here for you and will do everything I can because I love you more than life

 My dear Bowen

I forgot to tell you about Christmas this year when Chase was here.  Him and Caden so look up to you and you have taken the job of teaching them both “things”. You got a can of pop and shook it and tapped on it, then opened it and drank it. Of course Chase thought that was wonderful so he gets a can of pop and shakes it and it goes all over the dining room. I think Chase could’ve died. And then of course, there was the time when you tried to teach Chase how to pee in the pot without pulling his pants all the way down, and when he did it, the pee went everywhere. And when caden was getting ready for kindergarten and he was very nervous, so we were trying to alleviate his fear and Bryce gave some hints and you held up your middle finger and said “don’t do this or you will get in trouble” . You are such a hoot! But boy do Caden and Chase look up to you. 

You are the absolutely most well rounded boy I have ever known. You can do anything you set your mind to. And you are constantly active in or with something. 

I love you and I am always on your side.
